CONVERSE AMBASSADORS
Converse Rounds Out Its Skate Ambassador Roster With e Addition of Angel Ramirez, Eli Reed, and Kenny Anderson.
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (February 12, 2010) – Converse officially announces Angel Ramirez, Eli Reed, and Kenny Anderson as the newest pros on the ever-growing Converse skate team.
Eli, coming from the east coast brings a hustle and diversity along with him, Angel skates with pure, raw talent, and Kenny speaks to Converse’s history and roots in skateboarding. e Converse roster has grown organically from the start, and these three compliment exactly what Converse skateboarding is about through and through.
Few would disagree that Angel Ramirez is the best export out of the mile high city of Denver, Colorado, having almost single handedly put Denver’s skate scene on the map. Angel’s diverse ability stems from skating the cold streets of Denver to the some of the most challenging bowls and tranny at skateparks in the area. He’s got no “go to” or standard tricks, so every photo, every video part, is a unique treat. Putting out four full length video parts without ever having to warm up to the California mind set, Angel continues to do things his own way.
Eli Reed has been a steady part of the East Coast skate scene for some time now. Originally from Boston, now residing in NYC, Eli’s name and versatile style has quickly become synonymous with skate culture that defines east coast skateboarding. His recent stand out video part in Zoo York’s “State of Mind” coupled with continued magazine coverage and contest winnings has pushed Eli to the forefront of skateboarding, on the
east and beyond.
Kenny Anderson returns better than ever as an alumni to Converse, having been on the original team in 1997. On his return to Converse, Kenny says “I’ve always thought of Converse as the original skate shoe. is feels like home, being back on the team and I truly feel like I’ve gained part of my identity back.” Kenny’s smooth, consistent style and fluidity on a skateboard is no doubt, untouchable. His reemergence on the team stands out as one that is natural and sincere. Kenny’s rightful return to Converse is seen as a sort of homecoming by the entire Converse skate team.
